Nature Center trip

Some friends and I took our kids to the Nature Center one day.
It was a beautiful day and it ended up being more interesting than I expected.

We had a nice time, in spite of the whining, complaining, and bickering (between my own children). We hiked through the woods, over an old bridge, and enjoyed the simple things of nature.

Touch a truck day!

Just before school got out, I took Caroline to "touch a truck" day at the park. They have all sorts of vehicles that the kids can see and climb around in. We waited in line for the bounce house and jumped for a couple of minutes.

Then we saw the monster truck. Here's our friend Emma in the tire...

We even danced on the stage for awhile!

I think the following week was "Touch a Tractor" day. Who says we don't know how to have fun here in the Midwest!!!

"Auntie" Tina

Tina is what Jacob calls his "Big Sister". Since technically that would be impossible, we just ignored that detail and adopted her anyway. This is what they were doing while Jared and I were napping on a Sunday afternoon...gotta love big sisters!!!

Father/Son campout 2009

Ahh, this is the life. Just us men, beans out of a can, and the great outdoors!

The fire that took them 2 hours to start because it had been raining for

weeks and there wasn't any dry wood to be found. But they did it!!!!

The face of a man who just finished a grueling semester at school. He had been getting about 2 hours of sleep a night for the previous 3 weeks. Then took his son camping! Such a great Dad!

Finally old enough to use his own axe grandpa got him when he was 3.

Caroline's preschool graduation

This was Caroline's second year at the Little Maroons preschool.
(She's in the 2nd row down, 3rd from the right with the frowny face.)
She gets to go for one more year before she will go to kindergarten.
